CHIROPRACTIC

Female Patient

YOUR PATH TO WELLNESS

Helping You Get Healthy

Chiropractic is a branch of health care that focuses on disorders of the neuromusculoskeletal system, and the effects these disorders can have on general health. Rather than focusing solely on the area of complaint, our providers will assess each patient to get to the root cause of pain, immobility, or dysfunction. Dr. Kara or Dr. Erica will spend time reviewing your entire health history, conducting orthopedic and neurologic exams, assessing movement, posture, muscle strength, tone, and range of motion before establishing a treatment plan and beginning chiropractic care.

We use gentle, effective chiropractic adjustments to specific spinal and extra-spinal segments to restore joint motion, improve range of motion, and decrease pain and inflammation. Additionally,  We incorporate soft tissue therapy including Active Release Technique to enhance treatment outcomes. Other modalities utilized during treatment may include:

Activator: A low force technique used to provide percussive stimulation to an affected area.

Flexion/Distraction: Mobilization of the thoraco-lumbar spine to relieve pressure on compressed discs and provide a gentle stretch to both the superficial and deep musculature of the low back.

SOT Blocking: A low force technique often utilized during pregnancy to restore biomechanical function of the pelvis.

Therapeutic Exercise: Our mission is to make every patient feel empowered to take an active role in their own health. We do this through the prescription of specific at home exercises to strengthen, stretch, and restore proper function.

PREGNANCY, POSTPARTUM, & PEDIATRIC CARE

Care through all lifes stages

Pregnancy

We realize that different life stages require differing care, that's why both Dr. Kara & Dr. Erica have taken the time to further their education on techniques considered most effective for pregnancy and pediatric care. For pregnant patients Dr. Kara & Dr. Erica utilize Webster Technique, a low force therapy to help keep parent and baby comfortable during the entire pregnancy. This technique is used to restore biomechanical function of the pelvis, thus limiting low back and pelvic pain as your belly grows.

Pediatrics

Chiropractic care for infants and young children focuses on tension in their muscles and joints which can cause pain and dysfunction.  We utilize extremely gentle, low force techniques for pediatric adjustments (in fact, the amount of pressure used on an infant is about the same you would use to check for ripeness in a red tomato). Pediatric chiropractic adjustments are safe and effective for treating musculoskeletal dysfunction. There is no popping or twisting.

When to seek chiropractic care for your infant/child:

Child turns/tilts head to one side (torticollis)

Child favors nursing on one side

Difficulty latching/fully opening mouth

Tongue/lip ties are present

Frequently arches back

Rolling to one side only

Reaching with only one arm

Problems with gait/coordination

Postpartum Care

Our providers are committed to making sure every patient feels empowered on their postpartum journey. Each patient's postpartum experience is different and there is no specific end date to this period.  Some complaints that often accompany the postpartum period can be hard to talk about with your provider and are often overlooked. We are experienced in dealing with postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction including pain (vaginismus/vulvodynia), urinary incontinence, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, C-section scar rehab, & diastasis recti rehab.  Dr. Kara is an advocate for postpartum wellness and wants her patients to know that they have support on their journey to health.
